About

Domonique Clemons was appointed Genesee County Clerk/Register of Deeds on Dec 6, 2022. As Clerk/ Register, Clemons oversees the maintenance, upkeep, and issuance of the County’s vital records, legal records, and property records, as well as serving as the Chief Election Official of the County. Born and raised in Flint Michigan, Domonique attended Flint Southwestern High School and holds a Public Policy Degree from Michigan State University, as well as a master’s degree in Political Management from George Washington University. Domonique has several years of Government and advocacy experience, and previously served as Genesee County Commissioner (District 4) and Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners. While on the Board of Commissioners, Clemons championed many projects and initiatives such as the creation of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission, crime prevention measures focused on community policing, the purchase of a new county administration building, the equitable distribution of American Rescue Plan Act funds, and funding several programs and projects including the largest blight elimination plan in Genesee County history, and the Redevelopment of Buick City all while passing a balanced budget.
